Our boy is turning ONE!
Today is our Chaser's ONE year birthday! We woke up this morning to our usual habit of Chase standing by the bed staring at us, waiting for us to finally wake up and give him his morning loves! He obviously has no concept that today is his special day, but somehow we feel better treating him extra special today!
We LOVE this dog! He has been this BIG burst of sunshine and energy and fun and love in our home since the day we brought him home. He is always right there, wagging his tail sooo excited when we walk in the door, and does not leave our side when we're at home. He's always happy and there's just something about him that even when you're not feeling in the best of moods, he can just look at you and you can't help but smile! He is protective of us and so loyal. I never knew an animal could be such a part of our family, but Chase definitely is. I have said this before, but he filled such a huge void in our lives while we were struggling to have children and for that we will always feel sooo thankful for him. And now we look forward to the coming years when Chase will play with our kids and continue to fill our home with his special presence! We lucked out finding such a treasure and fall more in love with him all the time! And one other reason Chase is so special? When Jessika found our profile, she noticed Chase and how he looked just like her chocolate lab, Bear, and I think it played even just a small part in her feeling good about choosing us. What a special pup he is and we are sooo thankful for him today! Happy Birthday, Chaser, since I'm sure you will be reading this! Haa!
One of our first visits before we were able to bring him home -- he's about 4 weeks old here. The day we got to bring him home! (Check out the collar we bought him -- didn't quite fit yet!)
After his first bath, his first night home!
One habit he started early and continues today -- falling asleep with his head in his bowl!
Growing...
The day he got neutered -- poor guy!
Still growing and getting more and more playful
Always close-by
His favorite place in the house!
And here he is, a big ONE year-old!
Who couldn't love that face?!

Happy Birthday, Chase! What an awesome dog! I think that pets (big or small like my little gerbils) are such an important part of our lives. They can fill voids that sometimes even people can't! My Mom always said, "Nat, if you treat your kids like you treat your gerbies, they are going to be so happy!" The same can be said for you and Chris. You're going to be great parents to little Kaiya because it's obvious by these pictures that Chase is one happy dog.
Happy Birthday Chase... We love you! Maybe Ryley will give you an extra chip today!!!
That is one lucky dog! I love that he loves the bathtub- That is my favorite place in out house too!

well we think Chase is a great dog also--and that is something coming from us. It has been so interesting watching how attached you have become. It's hard for me to relate--not having had that experience but we are really happy he is so important in your family.
