Yuba-Ness

We had a great weekend of camping, boating, wakeboarding, and hanging out with good friends. We went to Yuba lake with Ry and Ash and were joined by lots of other really fun people. It was such perfect weather and the lake was gorgeous! And FREEZING! I'm so glad we were able to spend the weekend having such a great time! And the title of this post is a bit of an inside joke. While out on the boat Saturday evening, enjoying the sunset and a beautiful ride on the smoothest, glass water, Chris and I spotted a mysterious Yuba Lake creature swimming out in the distance. A few other people on the boat were convinced that there was "something" out there, but most everyone else thought we were crazy! I guess we'll never know. We named our creature the Yuba Ness monster, appropriately!
Some of our fun campers on the first night
Chris and I (look closely and you can see our roasted Starbursts -- a DIVINE treat that our birthmom Jessika taught us when we spent the day at their house a few weeks ago)
We woke up to this outside our tent Saturday morning. Apparently we were camping in cow-grazing territory!
Ryley had so much fun on her first camping trip!
Baby Easton on his first boat ride. He didn't love this outfit so much, but we all got a kick out of how cute he looked!
Heading out to have some fun!
Ash and I in the best spot on the boat!
Ryley getting in on a little badminton game!
Chris' getting ready for his very first experience with wakeboarding!
The perfect picture to emphasize how cold it was. My face tells it all! (I was completely gasping for air at this point after just jumping in the water!)
Soooo much fun!
Chris picked it up like a champ!

Boating is the best. We bought a boat a couple months ago and are excited for a great summer. You can come anytime. We love to wake board and surf behind our boat.

Ahh, yes, the Yuba-Ness.

Did you by chance get to cast a protective spell over the lake and its residents, and for all those who are seeking the peaceful existence of our underwater ally?

Looks like a lot of fun on the boat!!

hey, I am impressed Karli. You are actually "standing" wake boarding. When did you become so proficient? That brought back long ago memories when Jason had his boat and some of the family (certainly not me) learned to wake board. Sounds like a fun weekend.

Camping and boating...nothing more fun! Looks like you had a blast! We hope to camp in beautiful Sedona this weekend - our kids will be gone, so it will just be the two of us. We are hoping to find a trailhead in the pines somewhere.
