Special visitors!
One of the nice things about moving is that it seems to give people more motivation to come visit, and we LOVE to have visitors!
We had a VERY, VERY special visitor this past weekend and we got to have her for the whole weekend! Kaiya's birth mother, J, made the long trip up here and stayed with us for a few days! We had so much fun having her here with us! We did as much as we could with two wild kiddies in tow, which sometimes isn't very much! But we did manage to squeeze in some good dinners, a bowling trip, some shopping, and church on Sunday together. But most importantly, we got a lot of time to talk and catch up and just hang out together! Kai especially liked sitting in the bathroom helping J to get ready in the mornings! And when she would get up from her naps or in the morning, she would always immediately ask, "where's J?!" We are so fortunate to know such a wonderful, amazing girl and sooooo eternally grateful for the part that she has played in our family! She has always been so respectful of Chris and I being Kaiya's parents and never tries to compete in any way with that role. And she loves Taylor equally as much, which also exemplifies her selflessness! She is a pretty special girl around this house and it was such a treat for us to be able to spend some time with us!! Thanks, J, for coming up to see us! We miss you already!!
And last night we had some more of our favorite visitors come to stay for a few weeks! Chris' brother John and his family have some business in Utah this week and we are lucky enough to be able to have them stay with us! This is a HUGE bonus because they live out of state and we don't get to see them as often as we would like. But this past year, we have had TWO visits from them and it has been SOOO fun! Kaiya just adores Katie and Colby so much! The girls especially have been pretty inseparable! I love that Kaiya has someone to get into trouble with now! Don't you think they even look a little bit alike? It's pretty cute! And Mr. Colby is just the sweetest, kindest little guy and he is so nice to our girls! We are having lots of fun!!
The girls have been busy doing their usual cuteness! This is Kaiya's absolute MOST favorite thing to do. She loves to feed her doggy! Seriously, every single time we pull into the garage, she runs over to his bowl and if it is empty she thinks he needs to be fed. Can you imagine how FAT Chase would be if we fed him every time Kaiya wanted to?! But she is such a good helper and she LOVES to do anything for her best friend! She truly LOVES this dog!
The story behind these pictures: Kaiya has kinda crazy hair! I love it! It's just the way a little girl's hair should be. Shows the world how much fun she is having! Who wants perfectly combed, neat hair anyway?! BUT, there is one thing about her hair that is funny. She has these adorable, perfect ringlet curls...except for one big spot in the back of her head. It's this big strip of hair that is STICK STRAIGHT! Funny, right?! So, in order to make that part of her hair blend in with the rest of the curls, I have to put a couple of curlers in her hair every day and that usually does the trick! I hope those curls stay because they are just the cutest!
Taylor has been busy this week too: She got her fourth tooth -- all on the bottom! She has nothing on top yet! Kaiya's teeth grew in the exact same way! We need to get some grinders on top soon, though!!
It sure is tiring getting all those teeth!
She also has switched to a new formula that hopefully will help her to overcome her lactose issues. So far, it has been GREAT! We're hopping this will make the transition to whole milk a lot easier in a few months! She is such a sweet, happy, baby! She loves her new skills at crawling and is just all over the place now!
We're loving all the fun we are having with the girls and with our special visitors!!
