Fun Weekend
We had such a fun weekend, don't want to forget it! So mad I didn't take any pictures...what?! That's not like me, now is it? Darn.
First, Friday night, my parents offered to take our kids for the night so we could celebrate Valentine's Day, just Chris and I. We had such an awesome date! We had considered doing an overnight stay and going to a broadcast of Phantom of the Opera. But after seeing the live performance of the show so many times and LOVING it, we just didn't think watching it on a screen would do it justice. So, we scrapped that plan and decided on a yummy restaurant instead. We went to Rickenbacker's and enjoyed such a yummy dinner by candlelight -- so romantic! And then we just stayed and talked. And talked. And laughed. Until we looked around and the place had pretty much cleared out! It was just what I needed (and wanted). What I love more than anything with my somewhat limited time with just Chris and I, is just being able to talk. It reconnects us and brings us into sync in the midst of the craziness of life. And there is truly nothing that I love more! We had such a fabulous night together! Thanks for making it perfect, babe!
(my very favorite Valentine! I love you, Christopher!)
The next night, we went to a fun little party to celebrate some more! We got together with Ry and Ash, Liz and Roger, and Heather and Chris for some delicious roclette. Don't worry, I had never heard of it either, but it was sooooo delish! Roger ate a lot of this Swiss delight on his mission and was good enough to share! It's basically a collection of foods (potatoes, bratwursts, chicken, pineapple, pickles, basically whatever you want to use) and then you melt cheese and pour it over the top of all of it. Like fondue, without the dipping. It was soooo good! And the company was even better! We had such a fun night! All of our kids played so well together and had so much fun (especially since Ry and Ash just hung swings in their basement, which of course, were a smash hit with the kids). And while they were so busy having fun, we were all able to have some nice adult time, talking and laughing and hanging out. We so enjoyed it! Thanks, guys!
And now we're enjoying a day off! Can't ask for more than that!

Your picture is absolutely adorable! It is so fun having date nights with your hubby. With two girls able to babysit now we are able to do them more often.
