A little catch-up

Bear with me, I've got some catching up to do! All of this has been over the last several weeks, and I don't want to forget it all, so it's gonna be a lot!

With the first inkling of warm weather, we shot out of the house and ran to the park. Well, we literally drove, but either way, we couldn't get there fast enough! It was a blast! Nothing like being with the fam, letting the dog and the kids run free, and take in some healthy vitamin D!
Tay enjoyed her first experience with grass and wanted to sit and eat it more than anything. Kaiya did not so much enjoy her first bare-foot experience of the year (would you look at those tip-toes), but quickly remembered that she DOES like running in the grass. And Chase, that funny dog. He ran himself till he was so exhausted and found the only lump of snow left in this town and plopped right down on it to cool off.
We also got to spend some time with our relatives from Canada (all of my dad's family still live in Canada -- he's the only traitor to the US!) My grandma and Uncle Jim and Aunt Debbie were all here for a quick visit and it was soooo nice to see them! Taylor and Grandma really took to each other. Maybe it was due to the fact that Taylor was caught chewing on Grandma's toes -- yikes! Kaiya must have been off having crazy fun with the cousins, because I have no pictures of her!
Then a few weeks ago, the annual Baby Animals Event took place up here. We went last year and Kaiya was in HEAVEN, so we decided to make this an annual thing for our family as well. It did not disappoint again and both girls just loved interacting and being so close to all the animals! It is pretty cool that they really allow the kids to get down and dirty and really get close to these creatures that they see in story books! Goats, sheep, horses, chicks, pigs, cows, ducklings, and this year there were even baby BEARS! Yep, that's right, bears! Of course, the kids didn't get to interact with the cubs, but they did get to see them up close and personal! It was so amazing! I think Kaiya may just grow up to be a farmer! Or a vet. Or a horse whisperer. She is soooo in love with animals and it's like she goes into a totally different zone when she in their presence. She already has such a special love and bond with Chase and it extends to all other animals as well! I love to watch her talk to them and pet them and try to tell them where to go! She even cornered a couple of goats and I'm pretty sure they were more afraid of her than she was of them! It was a great day!
(apparently those animals can get pretty stinky :) We've had a fun few weeks! What a blessing to spend time together with our family -- there really is nothing better in all the world!
