The latest on adoption
This week we made some good progress with our adoption process. We paid our down payment (oooh, scary!), turned in our first set of paperwork, and attended our first required adoption class. The class was WONDERFUL! We really enjoyed it! The first part they had two couples who have recently had placement with a child -- talk about emotional and wonderful stories! The first couple only waited 4 weeks before they had a child and the second couple waited 4 YEARS! It just goes to show that you just never know when it will happen, but the one thing that stood out to me that both couples emphasized over and over again, was that when it is right, it is right, no matter how long it takes. They both just KNEW their child was meant for them and that made whatever they went through worth it. I can't wait for those feelings! The rest of the class was so informative. They try to make these classes not only catered around adoption subjects, but also on practical information that any first time parents would need to have. So, last night they had someone come and speak on tax credits for adoption and having children in general and how to appropriately file, and they also had people from the State Health Dept. there to talk about car seat safety. It was all such great information and I am looking forward to our future classes! So, from here, we just have to start filling out the rest of the paperwork -- the more difficult and time-consuming stuff, now. We should find out who our case-worker is within the week, so we're excited about that! It's all so exciting and we are loving this phase of our lives as we prepare for the big day we become parents! YAY!

I wish everyone had to take the classes you have to take- seriously! It is so weird how you go through so much to adopt when on the other hand some real nuts can just get prego. The world is strange that way. Enjoy the process- I am excited for you guys.
Some very lucky baby will come along that will be the perfect fit for the two of you - I just know it! And it will be well worth the wait. I sort of know about the waiting - remember it took 12 years to have Rebecca! And even when you have kids and you want another baby, it is painful when it just does not happen.
you guys will be the BEST parents! We're so excited to follow this journey of yours!!!
